"Motul is a French company that manufactures and sells lubricants for vehicle engines and industry. The company dates back to 1853, when the company "Swan&Finch Oil Co." was registered in New York. The main activity of the company is supply fish oil-based lubricants for ships and railway transport with steam engines.
Seventy years later, the company entered the national market. After mastering the American market, the company entered the international level. Demand for Swan and Finch lubricants around the world began to grow after 1920.
In 1932, the company began supplying the product to France. Ernst Zogg invited the company to the French market, timely assessing the scale of sales and the need of the lubricants market. The company "Supra Penn" was created to cooperate with Zogg. She ensured the import and sale of Motul lubricants in original packaging, thereby guaranteeing "high quality oil from Pennsylvania".
In 1953, "Swan&Finch" turned one hundred years old. This date was marked by the release of Motul Century - the first all-season oil. At that time, there were already 15,000 sales points throughout France, and the company actively participated in car races, maintaining its reputation. Swan&Finch Oil Co. also took part in the Citroen 2CV expedition of 15,000 kilometers."
